Last Week was Active Week at St. Oliver’s N.S. It was all systems go, the children had a very busy schedule! On Monday everyone enjoyed Tag Rugby with Ms. Rowe and obstacle courses on the basketball court. On Tuesday we had basketball training, on Wednesday Ms. Dunne took the children to the Community Hall for an introduction to badminton. On Thursday, we had two guest speakers visit the school; Michelle O’ Neill (International Soccer Referee) & David Power (Tipperary Football Manager). The questions were flying and both speakers provided the children with plenty of food for thought. Following on from our visitors there was a hotly contested rounders game between the out going 6th Class & the staff. It was a tightly fought game and fun was had by all! After building up an appetite the children enjoyed a barbecue and music on the school pitch. All food on the day was kindly donated by Joanne & Billy and the music was provided by Julie. On Friday we had our class races on the pitch. The children enjoyed the egg and spoons race, wheelbarrow race, three legged races and more. Everyone was then presented with a participation certificate and a goodie bag provided by Dillon’s Londis. A great week was had by all! A Big Thank You to Everyone that helped out in anyway.
